Who is THE BODY?

A San Diego church plant that exists to REACH people & help them GROW to LIVE for Jesus Christ

What is the vision?

The Body seeks to locally transform people, with an emphasis to impact the “TOP40 music culture,” so that their focus shifts from loving themselves, pleasure and money, to loving God through a life of faith and trust in Jesus Christ that is cultivated by love, service and community.

Our global vision is to impact the world through mission trips that consist of service, outreach and supporting local churches throughout the world.

What is the mission?

To powerfully shift the culture and impact the world by making committed followers of Jesus Christ who will in turn do the same through authentic relationships.

The mission statement consist of the DNA of THE BODY; Local & Global outreach and service, Discipleship, Reproduction, and Community/Missional Living

Local outreach & service – “Shift the culture”

Global outreach & service – “Impact the world”

Discipleship – “Making committed followers of Jesus Christ”

Reproduction (Church Planting & Leadership)  – “Who will in turn do the same”

Community living with believers & Missional living towards non-believers   –  “Authentic relationships”

What is the strategy to execute the mission? (Reach, Grow, & Live)

Reach

We will out-reach; reach out to people who are not saved (Mark 16:15)

We will in-reach; reach out to Christians who are struggling in their faith (Galatians 6:1-2)

Grow

We will help people grow individually (1 Peter 2:2)

We will help people grow in community (Philippians 2:1-5, Hebrews 10:25)

Live

We will encourage, train, & support people to go into the world & live by faith for Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:20)

What are the deep-seated convictions and values that will drive the vision?

Love: For God and all people.

Culture: Receive the culture without a compromise to Christ-likeness. We desire to remove barriers such as, lingo, apparel, musical genres and topics of conversation that hinder & tell unchurched people that they do not belong so that the Gospel could be interjected into their cultural context.

Authentic: We regular people who are honest about the fact that we are not perfect but yet we long to be like Him who is perfect in all things, Jesus Christ.

Servants: To all people. With the ultimate motive and desire to lead them to Christ.

Passion: for the supremacy of Jesus Christ as Lord and for Biblical authority in all things. 

Community: Living life together with those who commune with Jesus Christ

Release: People who are missionary minded to live & share the Gospel in their mission immediate field i.e. home, workplace, neighborhood etc.…
