Larry D. Bluford, Jr., President and Founder of Operation T.H.U.G.S. (The

Harvest Unit Gathering Souls) and General of HOG MOB’s BAy Area unit, is a speaker, evangelist and a Christian that uses

rap as a creative way to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the youth.  I was

born in New Orleans, Louisiana but have been residing in the Northern Bay of

California for over 30 years.

Mission: To reach outside of the church and go into the dark places and allow my light to

shine.  To deliberately compromise the traditional methods of evangelism to reach

the lost but never ever compromising the message which is and always will be

Jesus.  To be His hands and His feet in a world that is coming to an end and to

unite in the Body of Christ. To uplift and motivate the un-churched to live for

Christ and to be unashamed of the Gospel. (Romans 1:16)

Testimony: I grew up with a loving warm family unlike most of the people who have walked

my path.  I was the oldest of five kids.  At the age of 12 my mother and father

separated and this triggered a change in my behavior.  I became unruly in school

and started to get into trouble on a regular basis.  At age 14 I went to juvenile hall

for the first time.  I was in and out of the juvenile system from age 14-18.  At age

16 I began selling rock cocaine, smoking marijuana and drinking.  At age 19 I

fully into the thug lifestyle.  I packed guns, sold several different drugs and was                             constantly running from the police.  At age 22 I got married and had my first and

only child. I thought getting married and having a child would slow me down but

it didn’t at all. At age 23 was in the newspaper and on the news for attempted

murder and robbery, a crime at which I was innocent. I fought this case for three

and wound up having to serve over five years in the California State Prison

System.

I entered prison at age 26 and exited at age 31.  During that time God dramatically

changed my life and it was here that God gave me the vision for the outreach

ministry called Operation T.H.U.G.S.  I was paroled from prison June 9th of 2004

and five days later God blessed me with a career job as a Union Ironworker.  In

In October of 2009 God blessed me to buy my family a home.  August 26th of

2011 God blessed my wife and I to celebrate 16 years of marriage. October 16th

of 2011 I baptized the man that sent me to prison for over five years for a crime

he accused me of. Today I go all over from the streets, to churches, juvenile halls,

California Youth Authorities and conferences sharing my testimony and the

Gospel of Christ Jesus through Word and song.
