Matthew 18:21-22 ESV 

[21] Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” [22] Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Jesus replies that he should forgive not just seven times, but seventy-seven times, emphasizing the need for unlimited forgiveness. Some think its wild how Jesus speaks of forgiveness beyond what anyone had ever considered before: seventy times seven! Again Jesus was telling Peter that he should forgive his brother a limitless number of times. I believe alot of times that is hard for some! We as humans and sinners want to sit and stew on what others had done to us and hold those issues of what others may have done to us!  We must look at what we have done to God throughout our lives and what Jesus did for us and then remember that when we think of not forgiving someone else! God calls us to forgive all and forgiveness is an action!  Unforgiveness is the number one thing that brings the enemy in! I cant even begin to describe how much I know what Ive done in my life to hurt people emotionally, physically and mentally! I did that to God! How can I even think that I cant forgive anyone for what they’ve done to me! Dont let a bruised heart keep you from freedom and the ability to be close to God!  Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” He forgave you and now you should do the same and forgive them!
